Hashima island

 

  It all started in 1890 when the Japanese company Mitsubishi bought the island and began coal mining project in  undersea mines being increasingly inhabited by their workers.

With the substitution of coal for oil in Japan during the 1960s, the mineral extraction mines began to be closed nationwide, so Mitsubishi officially announced the closure of its activities on the island in 1974, and the place It has been completely evacuated, becoming known as "Ghost Island".

 

Pripyat

 

 Pripyat was founded on February 4^th  1970 .It was home to the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant workers. On  April 26^th 1986, the Chernobyl reactor announced his tragic downfall .when scientists were testing a new way to get energy triggered the button reactor 4, causing the detonation at the plant.

 

Sanzhí

It all started on  November  1978 , when an manager had the idea to create a futuristic resort to upper-middle class people, however, the project was abandoned in 1980 due to investment losses and death's car  and suicides during construction, which a lot of people tells this place was built in the cemetery for dutch soldiers.

 

Pompeii

The ancient city was destroyed during a major eruption of the volcano Vesuvius in 79, with a rain of ash that ended the city. It remained hidden for 1600 years until it was rediscovered by chance in 1748. Ash and mud protected the buildings and objects the effects of time, also shaping the bodies of the victims, which caused them to be found the exact way they were hit by eruption.

 

Centralia

 It all started through a fire in the sanitary landfill near the city, as the fire spread  the underground passing through the old coal mine that was in the city. from that episode many holes began to open on the floor, causing the evacuation of the population.
